There are about 200 natural springs in Greece, 80 of which are open to the public at the moment.
Why would someone want to soak in a hot natural spring?
Well, there are many reasons why.
It is a very effective way of treating numerous malfunctions of the thyroid, digestive system and others.
Many swear by its healing powers for rheumatoid arthritis and other bone issues.
It is ideal for relaxation; a must for all of us leading a stressful lifestyle. It regulates blood pressure and solves blood circulation problems.
However, one does not necessarily have to be ill or need any therapy to visit one of these places – it is our obligation to pamper ourselves from time to time and enjoy the sheer relaxation a soak in a natural spring offers.
Some natural springs are warmer than others, the temperature of the water varies; it is a between 37°C – 40°C.
The water is rich in minerals and other substances which are most beneficial to our body.

Lesvos – one of the islands of the Dodecanese has one of the most popular spas in the area called Therma – close to the Gera bay.
This is an ideal destination recommended for the ultimate relaxation experience.
Enjoy the: Sea, sun, spa and feel like a million dollars!!!
Lesvos is quite a distance away from Athens and you’d either take a ferry and enjoy the ‘cruise’ of about 10 hours or fly there with Olympic Air.
It’s a fantastic island where you can spend over a week exploring its spectacular beauty.
Remember, Lesvos produces the best OUZO!!! You don’t want to leave the island without exploring its picturesque villages and towns.
Agiasos, the village is my favourite along with Molyvos.
Rent a car and take in the whole island.
Taste the local cuisine and enjoy the architecture; some classic mansions stand out – very grand indeed.
They reveal the aristocracy of bygone days. Glad to say that many are still in excellent condition.
